The following list shows all currently maintained countries grouped by continent, assuming a seven-continent model. In case a country is transcontinental (i.e., spanning multiple continents), the country is grouped with the continent where the majority of its landmass is located.
In case a country has seen one or multiple political transformations over time (e.g., the Kingdom of Nepal becoming the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal), former governance structures are included on the current country's page.
